Our Club and Structure

West End Anglers is one of the oldest fishing clubs in the North with an unrivalled portfolio of prime fishing.

river tyneIts members can choose from almost 20 miles of salmon, sea trout and brown trout beats and there is even a small stocked still-water nestled away in Northumberland.

The distinguishing characteristics of our waters are their quality and their variety.

This is fine fishing in stunning locations, with easy access and parking.

We are a club and not a syndicate and that is an important distinction.

Since 1898, WEA has nurtured a special fellowship of angling that we hope is still evident in the club today.

We care for our beats together, we are passionate about the protection and conservation of our rivers and we aim to fish with friends.

fishingAs well as the fishing, there is a diary of social events, meetings for members and regular updates on what the club is doing.

Our beats are spread among the rivers Tyne, North Tyne, South Tyne, the Coquet and the Rede. There is a lot to choose from and the waters are rarely busy.

If you arelake looking for more than day ticket fishing and feel joining an organisation like ours
would suit you, please drop us a line.

We meet bi-monthly on the first Wednesday of the month for friendship and fishing talk. We have a social section within the club and our Social Secretary arranges outings and events throughout the season.

The Club is a democratic organisation governed by its Constitution. Day to day decisions on the running of the club are made by an elected committee which meets on a regular basis. The lengths of committee posts are governed by the Constitution, but are generally for two years.
Changes to the Constitution can be made at the AGM and are subject to a two thirds majority of votes.
The Club has a Health and Safety Policy to safeguard members when fishing or taking part in bankwork.
